2007 Golden Steering Wheel Award
7 November 2007
Efficiency wins through: the PEUGEOT 308 overtakes the competition in Germany and wins the 2007 Golden Steering Wheel in its category. This award is presented annually by Germany's national weekly newspaper Bild am Sonntag since 1976 following in-depth trials and tests where the selection criteria included style, design, comfort, road holding, safety, environmental friendliness and quality.
All new models launched on the German market over the past 12 months, were divided into four main categories; small cars, compact, medium/executive and SUVs. Bild am Sonntag readers short listed five finalists per category. A 23-strong jury of racing drivers, automotive professionals and media personalities then assessed each of the five finalist vehicles.
The Peugeot 308 hatchback was chosen as the best compact family car ahead of its four short-listed competitors. It also came first in nine of the 15 judgment criteria and outperformed both the Toyota Auris and the Hyundai i30.
Many thanks to the jury which recognized the PEUGEOT 308’s qualities, giving you yet another reason to take the wheel!
